Wayne Haynes is the General Manager Industry and Innovation of DCNS
Australia, a subsidiary company of DCNS SA.
Wayne joined DCNS in June 2015 having previously worked as a highly
regarded consultant with an extensive background in commercial,
operational, government and diplomatic roles. He has wide international
experience, managing large and culturally diverse teams, including roles in
the United Kingdom, Norway, France, United States, South East Asia and the
Previous recent positions include Director of Sales and Marketing and Key
Account Manager for the Thales Australia naval business group, leading
international acquisition activities in Norway for Macquarie Infrastructure
Group on a major communications infrastructure bid, General Manager
Australia and New Zealand for the US company Liquid Robotics Inc, and
consulting extensively for the New South Wales government in the areas of
strategic transport and infrastructure.
As a serving naval officer Wayne held a range of senior positions across the
Services, both in Australia and overseas. Significant appointments included
Defence Adviser in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Director of
Communications and Information Systems in the Joint Headquarters, Director
of the Australian Defence Force Warfare Centre, Commanding Officer of
HMAS Melbourne (FFG05), Director of Naval Warfare and Australian Defence
Attaché to France.
Wayne is a member of the Royal Australian Navy Reserve in the rank of
Captain. He is a qualified negotiation consultant with ENS International.
Married with two grown sons and a new grandson Wayne enjoys golf, rugby
and music and maintains a home in Sydney.
