Dr Samira Fazlollahi
Veolia Australia and New Zealand
Dr. Samira Fazlollahi is a research scientist in Veolia group, where she has developed an optimization model for the design and operation of district energy systems (i.e. electricity, heating, cooling and hot water). Currently she is working on smart modeling and simulation of urban systems where the goal is to collect data and information, analyze them by applying advance mathematical models, and then optimize the operational decisions.
Prior to her move to Australia, she was working for Veolia City Modelling Center (VECM) located in Singapore. During her engagement at the VECM, she applied and developed her optimization methodology for improving the efficiency and performances of the water supply network, waste collection and treatment, and energy conversion processes.
Samira has over 9 years of experience in energy sector. She obtained her Ph.D. degree from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) University, Switzerland in energy system optimization.
