Head of Strategy and New Markets (Commercial),

VINCI Energies

 

Mauricio is a Strategy and Commercial Executive Head with over 19 years of professional experience in the Utilities, Mining and Transportation sectors in Australia and Europe. He held senior leadership roles for WSP, AusNet Services and Axis Mining prior to joining VINCI Energies in 2018.

 

As the Head of Strategy and New Markets for VINCI Energies’ infrastructure business, Omexom, Mauricio has led the Australian business (organic and acquisition) growth strategy and commercial governance framework, for prudent, sustainable and profitable growth.

 

Passionate about enabling the region’s energy transition, digital transformation, and ensuring energy security/equity, Mauricio’s strategy for VE-Omexom has delivered several insignia projects for the betterment of local asset owners and the communities these serve. These projects include: the largest energy performance smart lighting project in Australia (for the ACT government); EPC delivery of the largest single unit synchronous condenser in Australia (for TOTAL Eren); as well as delivery of various energy enablement contracts for Transport megaprojects, and smart asset services for networks.

 

A believer in continuous professional development, Mauricio holds an honours Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree (from Universidad Javeriana), an MBA (from LaTrobe University), a Master of Construction Law (from Melbourne University), and he is currently enrolled in the Oxford University’s (Saïd Business School’s) Executive Education ‐ Strategic Leadership Programme.
