Julia is an Associate Partner in EY’s Climate Change and Sustainability Services team based in Adelaide and has 20 years’ experience in environmental and sustainability public policy. She has worked across the government implementing numerous economic and environmental policy reforms. Julia has represented the South Australian government at international events including the 13th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Bali 2007, the 2015 World Summit Climate and Territories in Lyon and Climate Week New York 2017.
Julia delivered Australia’s first climate change legislation in 2007 and was responsible for establishing more than 20 industry sector agreements to reduce emissions and drive renewable energy generation. In addition, Julia has championed local adaptation planning across all South Australian regions.
More recently, Julia developed South Australia’s climate change strategy in South Australia and was responsible for creating Green Adelaide – a new entity to transform Adelaide into a world-leading, sustainable, green and climate resilient city.
In previous roles, Julia oversaw the implementation of the Basin Plan in South Australia, drove industry reform under the Water Industry Act 2012 and established South Australia’s response to water security to 2050.
Julia as actively developed sound relationships at all levels of government, business and the community. She is a strong communicator and maintains an extensive network across government and business which was integral to the delivery of the government’s policy response to climate change, water security and sustainable state development.
