Hervé Guillou began his career in 1978 in the shipbuilding department, first in Cherbourg and then in Nantes-Indret. He then joined in 1989 the Directorate General for Armaments (DGA) in Paris, where he held the responsibilities of Director of Cabinet. In 1993, Hervé Guillou was appointed Director of the International tripartite program (United Kingdom, Italy, France) of Horizon antiaircraft frigates.
In 1996, he became Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the nuclear engineering company Technicatome, a subsidiary of Areva. He joined the EADS Group in 2003 as Chief Executive Officer of EADS Space Transportation, a Franco-German Business Unit in charge of the prime contractor for the Ariane launcher and the M51 ballistic missile program.
In 2005, Hervé Guillou became CEI of EADS / Cassidian’s Business Unit Defense and Communications Systems based in Munich (now Cassidian Systems). In 2011, he created Cassidian Cyber Security, where he became Chief Executive Officer. From September 2012 to January 2014, Hervé Guillou is Senior Advisor Defense and Security of EADS. On July 23, 2014, he became CEO of DCNS.
In July 2014, he was appointed CEO of Naval Group.
Hervé Guillou is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique, ENSTA ParisTech (National School of Advancex Techniques), INSTN (National Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology) INSEAD and he is a certified director of the Institute French Administration Sciences-Po.
Hervé Guillou is the chairman of the France-Australia Business Council of MEDEF International.
